The developers brag that they carefully studied World War II tanks of the American, German, and Soviet variety, and based the in-game tanks’ characteristics on their real-life counterparts. Even the modifications existed in real life, at least as prototypes. The developers deserve credit for their attention to detail, but the bottom line is that the minute-by-minute gameplay feels dull as a result. That very same attention to detail, however, is the factor that makes this game a joy to play on a tactical level. As you level up and gain access to more tanks, you realize that each vehicle has its own purpose on the battlefield. Tank Destroyers, for example, feature strong armor in the front and powerful weaponry, but they’re slow-moving and highly vulnerable to flanking. You can rack up a good kill count with this vehicle, but only if you manage to stay back from enemy tanks.

I wrote that I have the hunch of World of Tanks being a rigged game, where via matchmaking, tinkering with penetration and probably hit chances and damage numbers the developers guarantee that everyone remains close to the average in terms of kills and wins, so no one quits either because of “too easy”, nor “im pwned by nolifers lol”. The title is misleading because I still don’t and can’t have a real proof. What I have is something that very much correlate to my theory and has one alternative explanation only: My girlfriend and me started new accounts.
The idea is that the Marder II has mm penetration, therefore it can penetrate everything it can face if the match is unrigged and even if its penetration is halved, still can penetrate everything but T5 heavy front armor. Its gun dispersion is small and and the minimum shell damage is OK too.

Premium tanks are tanks you can buy for gold or for real money on the World of tanks website. They only have one standard set of modules, so you cannot unlock better modules than the .
Loader Increased reload time In addition to destroying the tank by inflicting it sufficient damage points or by explosion of ammo rack, there is a third possibility: Once the tank loses its all tankers, it becomes inoperable even it has still hit points. Such vehicle is considered destroyed. We know how to fire and how to inflict damage, but we still do not know what the factors on view range are and how to spot an enemy. In this chapter I’ll try to explain this briefly.
First term describes a distance, from which we are able to see a tank model in the game. This value can be changed in game options and if your computer is powerful enough, I suggest setting it to high.
Overview[ edit ] The first tanks and armored cars in Chinese hands were whatever imports they could acquire and some armoured vehicles they fashioned ad hoc, as China had few factories and a weak industrial base to build them. In China, every sort of available import and captured weapon was used. Warlords set up their own armies and bought what tanks and weapons they could. Standardization was functionally non-existent.

In a platoon of 3 of them it’s a lot of fun though. I think that I’m going to play the Crusader line. Biggest problem I have is with so many at T7, it costs a fortune to buy T8 tanks, so can only do one every so often. The Crusader is a light tank, so you’re going to lose a lot of crew skill transferring them over from the Matilda. It’s also a really weak tank and you’ll mostly be a tourist, even in tier 5 games. The Cromwell is great fun to play. It’s so damn fast.
One of the best tier 6 tanks. The Comet is complete marmite. Some people like it, but then some people like Justin Bieber. Personally I f king hated it more than anything, until the Syphilis Panzer entered the game. The K grind to the Centurion just adds salt to the wound. When I played it, gold ammo cost real money, so I never used it.

Free-to-Play For a free-to-play game, World of Tanks does a good job of tempting gamers to shell out cash. Its highly addictive gameplay means that gamers who start playing are likely to stick around. The ability to purchase gold allows players to accelerate their progress through the game. Whether vehicles are stock or fully researched, how they are equipped, nor crew skill is taken into account by the match-maker. Vehicle Tier Vehicle tier is not taken into consideration when balancing teams. This is a common misconception among players. For example, under the current rules a tier 8 medium can be matched against a tier 7 heavy tank. The only relevance of vehicle tier is to determine the battle tier.

Leave a comment I already own a number of premium tanks. However, for various reasons I do desire more. These are not inclinations I will be able to act on in the near future, but for when I do have some free gold here is my current shopping list. The reasons are almost entirely aspergic. Unlike many premiums it does not benefit from any special matchmaker, but I do not mind that.
This is the missing one. Essentially I want, at some point, a high-tier German premium. Finally out of the trio of British premium tanks it is the one that interests me the most. Does that make me strange? M22 Locust — Tier III American Light — gold Low-tier premiums I generally find a lot of fun, but I also think this little speedster would be very good for practising scout tanking in a lower-tier setting.
It is so small and light the difference between it and Tier V heavies it might face would be an interesting challenge.

This past May saw us test changes to the KV Had they proven agreeable, they would have been applied to other preferential tanks. As the feedback and testing showed, the reason you take these tanks onto the battlefield or bring them into your Garage in the first place is their preferential status and unique characteristics. In response to your comments, we went back to the drawing board to work on another round of adjustments.
Here’s a look at where the current setup is falling short and how the upcoming changes address those areas.
This article is for the control aspect of World of Tanks. For the game’s page, see World of Tanks. The player takes full control of a single armored vehicle (Chosen from garage) and is placed into a battle on a random map, chosen through automated MM (Match Making). However the map chosen by.
Leave a comment The special this weekend is a homage to the first use of the tank in warfare at the tail-end of the Battle of the Somme. The first usage of the tank was really one of desperation. Despite the popular view the generals of World War I were donkeys leading lions, the majority of them were very willing to embrace new forms of warfare to try and break the stalemate of the Western Front.
Anyone who thinks they enjoyed the slaughter seriously misjudges them. They were in a very difficult place, fighting a war where the technology and business of war had, for a few years, given the defence an ascendance, which in the relatively restricted geographical situation of the Western Front converted into more or less total dominance. The tank was one of the developments that boosted up again the power of offence. It had been hoped to use them in greater numbers for the Battle of the Somme, but like any revolutionary new system there had been delays — and the start of the Battle could not wait it was vital to try and relieve pressure on the French at Verdun in particular.
So weeks after the start of the battle the top brass decided they could not wait any longer, and throw all the tanks they had at that time into their first action. If it was not a complete success, it did show this was a new weapon system with potential. It would take another couple of years, of practical experience and engineering innovations, before the tank came fully into its own.
